Perfect getaway for fishing and sightseeing on the Kenai Peninsula

At Hungry Moose Bed and Breakfast, you will experience the serenity of our mountaintop retreat away from the bustling highway and summer crowds miles below. Enjoy the freedom to explore the spacious 17 acres of gardens, greenhouses, pond, bonfire decks, cabins, and trails. This bed and breakfast has an old time Alaska character with lots of art and flowers. You will feel as if you are out in the wilderness in a rustic lodge but with elegant accents of wood carvings on the decks and original artwork inside. Especially relevant for those interested in fishing, we offer a fish cleaning station and freezers to store your catch, as well as a smokehouse, should you choose to smoke some fillets or strips yourself. ( Hostess will help you).

The owner, Rebecca, is an avid gardener, artist, and builder. She is more than happy to share her knowledge of the peninsula after living on it for 50 years, sharing stories, and helping you navigate local activities. Because she studied art in Paris for a year as a high schooler and spent years on the Mendocino Coast of Northern California where she also honed her creativity in batik, glass mosaics, pottery, and jewelry, you will see these artistic expressions all around the lodge. Rebecca built her own log house single handedly in 1975 and has built many cabins and houses since. Her love of wood and log craft is everywhere. She is also experienced in fisheries and marine biology occupationally. She enjoys cooking your breakfast and can turn out awesome French crepes!

After a long day of activities, you can enjoy a relaxing evening in the warm summer air on the upper or lower deck, taking in the beautiful sunset behind world famous volcanic Mount Redoubt while savoring the tempting scent of your freshly caught salmon as it sizzles on our barbecue.
